The low FODMAP Diet

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) affects 1 in 5 of us.  The symptoms of which seriously impact on quality of life causing much anxiety and discomfort.


The low FODMAP diet has been evidenced in clinical trials to successfully manage symptoms in 75% of people with IBS and other gastrointestinal disorders.  Resulting in significant reduction in pain and discomfort, bloating and distention, diarrhoea and constipation, heartburn and nausea and excess gas (wind).


Other reported benefits include reduction in days off work due to ill health, increased energy levels, reduced anxiety and increased peace of mind.


The Low FODMAP diet has been shown to be of benefit in people with Coeliac disease who despite removing gluten from their diet continue to have symptoms of bloating, discomfort and diahorroea.  Also people with Inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis & Crohn's) who continue to experience symptoms despite inflammation being controlled.
